2D graphics on Clothing and Interior
What it Is:
Frieda de Graaf, from Erasmus Coolhunt ‘08: The spazio of Rossana Orlandi (important scout of interior design talent) is filled with 2D cartoons. This has inspired multiple designers, like the Belgian shoe designer Biography and the interior designer shade by Front (see picture).
Why it's cool:
It is cool, because after the customizing mania the power of the one color marker is refreshing. Customizing involves time and the result is not as satisfying as you might have expected. Why not give our mind some peace again and let the designer make the choices. There are enough choices to make in this world. Furthermore, the cleaner design gives some peace in the all screaming color design industry at the moment.
It is an example of the “Cool Creators of Cool” trend. All the designers that follow this trend are independent and authentic. Rosanna Orlandi has earned her credits in the interior design world without complying with all kinds of commercial brands and so her authority can be trusted. Now the designers of Front are inspiring the clothing industry as well in a new clean trend.
