Drink responsibly - Bacardi

By Dick Priems, from Tio Coolhunt ‘08:
There is a new TV commercial of Bacardi in Holland, and probably also outside of Holland. In this commercial there is a guy who orders a new alcoholic drink, the girl next to him orders a water. He laughs at her because of the water, drinks his glass in no time empty and he goes to the dance floor. A other guy who is just dancing, touches him unintentionally and the guy of the alcoholic drink starts a fight and get kicked out of the club. He walks to a alley and have to throw over. Than the commercial is playing in reverse from that point. So the guy walk normally back into the club, greets the security man, back on the dance floor he says to the guy who touch him softly: No problem and smiles. And finally back to the beginning of the commercial he also order a water instead of the alcoholic drink. Than they say something like: Don’t let the drinks control your night. ‘

04. Viral communication to its best

Daft Punk scored an average hit with the dance floor tune “Harder Better, Faster Stronger” in 2001. Now the song made a revival on Youtube. A guy has made a video clip for the song filming just his hands. He’d written the lyrics of the song on his fingers and he would show them during the song following the tune. He called it ‘Daft Hands’. It looks brilliant and has already been watched 15 million times on YouTube.
Great stuff, but it the viral doesn’t stop there. Two college girls from California decided to do the Daft Hands idea with lyrics painted on body parts, called Daft Bodies. It has been watched over 4 million times. Less than ‘Daft Hands’ but even so four times as much as the original 2001 Daft Punk clip.

Building a new Generation

Christopher Sodl, Austria:
Since a few months there is a new trend in the children’s book market in Austria. Reprints of books from the beginning of the 20th century undergo a renaissance and new books in the style and design of those days come on the market.
Publisher caught the demand for fairytale books which comprehend social norms and cultural conclusions and so you can find a lot of these books you haven’t seen for decades in Austrian bookstores again.

Nokia has rolled out its own stores over that last year and a half, called Experience Centers. But there’s a twist: the 25 Experience Centers around the country don’t sell anything. 15. The Rise of Mash-Up Culture

Probably it started on February 24, 2004 when DJ Dangermouse mixed the Beatles’ The White Album with Jay-Z’s The Black Album. The result, The Grey Album, was downloaded a million times in one day: Mash-Up Culture was Born. We simply love it when two (or more) different worlds get together in a creative, innovative smooth way. Be it in music. Be it in playful mash-up movies: Rocky Bilboa (Sylvester Stalone in Rocky 4) mashes op with Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep in the Devil Wears Prada, see on top of this page). Be it in the virtual social networks we love and are still separated from each other. Be it: wherever (fashion, food, home decoration.)

Amsterdam Webcams

Gwen van Zwijnenburg: My trend in ‘Cool Wonderland/Human Pearls’ are the webcams in Amsterdam. With http://www.amsterdam.info/webcam you can look live in de center of Amsterdam. This could become a trend, because while you’re sitting al the couch at home, you can watch the city and deside to go to the city. You can see if it’s to busy to shop or not, while sitting on your couch! I think it will become a huge trend when you will be able to look into the stores. You can see if you favorite jeans is still available in your size and the leave the house to buy it. So in the future, you won’t have to drive you bike trough the rain for nothing!
